WHAT IS LAPP?
With Lapp you can train as a professional speed skater. Lapp is specially developed for a 400m ice ring. You will have access to a multitude of relevant training details, which will give you insight in your skating performance. Lapp registers the number of laps, lap times, number of strokes, and heart rate*. This insight will facilitate more efficient training. In addition, it is fun to keep track of your skate performance.
The only thing you need is your phone and the app! Lapp summarizes information per lap. In addition, Lapp will keep track of your season’s statistics (or any period that you define). We are curious and innovative, therefore we like to add new features in the future.
*Heart rate is currently only available for the Apple iPhone app. To register heart rate an additional device is needed, e.g., a Bluetooth heart rate monitor, which communicates with Apple HealthKit.
Install the app and train like a

AFTER YOUR TRAINING
Select <Stop training> to end you training and your results will be stored. You can now view your summarized results as well as the details per lap.
BEFORE YOU START
Open Lapp when you are on the ice and select <Start training>. During skating you best keep your phone on your back in your skate attire.
During skating you can open Lapp to view your results.
NUMBER OF LAPS AND LAPTIME
Lapp recognizes laps based on sensors in your phone. A lap is determined to start and end after a curve. The lap time gives the time needed to complete a lap.
A stroke corresponds to one push-off, either with the left or right leg. Two strokes are 1 push-off with the left and 1 push-off with the right leg.
For registering your heart rate another device is needed, e.g., a Bluetooth heart rate monitor. (This feature is currently only available for Apple’s iPhone.)
This screen gives the summary of all your training sessions in a period you determine (e.g., your skate season).
